Zhao Hanbing is a PhD student at the School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, enrolled in 2024, and a member of the [S]Equilibrium Lab under the supervision of Prof. Shuaizhong Wang. Her doctoral research explores the potential of concrete reuse within circular construction strategies, with a focus on resource optimization and reducing the environmental impact of the built environment.
Her academic background spans architecture, engineering, and digital fabrication. She holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH Zurich, a Master of Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. Professionally, she has worked as an Architectural Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects in China and as a BIM Specialist at Burckhardt+Partner in Switzerland. These experiences inform her current research, which seeks to integrate design innovation, fabrication technologies, and sustainable construction practices.
