PhD Student
His research investigates the development of design-oriented computational frameworks at the intersection of computational form-finding, structural equilibrium, and material innovation. Currently, he is exploring the integration of graph-based computational methods with bending-active structures, focusing on force-driven workflows that allow for real-time design exploration and generation of structural forms that bridge the gap between architectural intent and performance. Beyond his research, Gordon has contributed to architectural education as a co-instructor for master-level elective courses at the CUHK School of Architecture.
Prior to his research role, Kwong Lau gained professional experience at international firms including Henning Larsen Architects and Collective Studio in Hong Kong, where he contributed to competition-winning designs and large-scale development projects across Asia.
