Ph.D. candidate
Li Yangzhi is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Architecture at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and a Bachelor of Architectural Design from Griffith University, Australia. Her research focuses on robotic fabrication, sustainable construction technologies, and the application of computer vision and machine learning in architecture, with particular expertise in material reuse and automated assembly.

Having extensive experience leading and contributing to interdisciplinary research projects, including "Integration of Robot and Vision Systems for Sustainable Construction with Recycle Material" and "Machine Learning-Based Visual Recognition for Complex Components in Robotic Fabrication." The PhD research specifically focuses on automation in construction and the innovative application of upcycling construction waste materials. During  studies at UCL, led the YIMBY (Yes In My Backyard) project, which integrated AI-driven planning, automated housing design, robotic self-building, and AR-assisted assembly, demonstrating her ability to innovate in digital design and physical construction.
